Position Overview/Summary

Timely and accurate production of 3 dimensional CAD models, detail drawings, layout drawings, assembly drawings, and manufacturing bills of material that are of average complexity.  Support the generation of proposals.

Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred)


  • An Associate Degree in Technical Discipline or Drafting
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience


  • Strong UG 3D modeling skills.
  • Creativeness in solving problems.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to translate technical information into basic understanding
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with a diversity of people at an individual and team level.

Position Responsibilities and Duties

  • Create component detail drawings for axial compressors, expanders, and gas turbines that include components such as bearings, seals, stationary and rotating components, as applicable to the specific product line.
  • Design utilizing correct and economical method of manufacturing machined and fabricated parts.
  • Utilize correct part numbers, rough numbers, welding methods to meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Self-check for accuracy of all drawings, layouts and bills of material
  • Check vendor drawings as required. 
  • Assist factory inspector and Product Design Engineer in dispositions of non-conformances of parts.
  • Participate in Process Improvement.
  • Develop product expertise to support taking lead for layout and assembly drawings.
