Position Overview/Summary

A global, highly motivated company seeks a Project Manager who will manage control system projects from initiation to completion. The successful candidate will use project management concepts and Client-centric skills to execute the work. As the leader of a project team, the Project Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining schedules while facilitating internal and external resources to deliver projects per contracted scope on time and within budget.

Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred)

  • Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Degree preferred in an engineering discipline
  • Minimum 6 years experience managing control system projects for the oil and gas industry; equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience in the industry may be considered
  • Ability to combine a strong work ethic with excellent communication and documentation skills
  • The ability to work well in a team-based project execution environment
  • Experience with MS Project
  • Previous Project Coordinator experience is beneficial

Position Responsibilities and Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Proactively manage project-related issues
  • Manage team of in-house design staff, software developers, production, and test personnel
  • Coordinate and track activities regarding vendors and sub-contractors for materials and/or labor
  • Develop and maintain schedule for assigned projects
  • Monitor and control material and labor cost budgets
  • Track progress payment milestones and trigger invoicing accordingly
  • Final accountability for project financial performance
  • Define overall execution process and project schedules with Clients
  • Submit project progress reports and process notifications to project teams and Clients
  • Conduct and document meetings, as necessary for project progression
  • Manage all communications for internal and external interfaces and correspondence
  • Oversee the preparation and transmittal of document packages and software applications
  • Monitor the return and incorporation of Client return transmittals
  • Resolve Client change requests and expediting needs
  • Negotiate all project scope, schedule, and financial matters with Clients
  • Anticipate, identify, and manage risks to the project
  • Identify special resource requirements, if any, such as contract labor, special skill sets, special tools/equipment, resource training, etc.
  • Liaise with Field Service, Training, and other departments when required, for coordination of support services
  • Support financial reporting and close-out requirements
  • Oversee the identification of suppliers for purchased equipment, long lead items, or special materials
  • Maintain accurate and consistent electronic files and documentation on assigned projects
  • Domestic and international travel occasionally, as dictated by project needs
  • Other duties as may be assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Self-motivated and able to excel in tasks with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management concepts
  • Organized & detail-oriented
  • Ability to prioritize and manage differing business needs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Familiarity with reading engineering drawings is preferred
