Position Overview/Summary

Candidate will be responsible for the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, recording of as found conditions, and reassembly of rotating compressor equipment. Work as part of a team within a team to ensure that all projects are completed safely, correctly and meet or beat customer expectations. Follow and promote all safety and quality directives in support of Dresser-Rand's commitment to being the industries Premier Service Provider to our clients.

 

Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred)

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years job related experience
  • Greater than average reading, writing and arithmetic skills required
  • Ability to read and comprehend mechanical drawings, written procedures and or verbal directions.
  • Proficient use of precision measuring tools.
  • The ability to routinely lift at least 25 pounds, as required to perform essential functions of the position, for up to eight hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically, as required to perform essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Proficient use of common PMI's (mic's, gauges, and etc.)

Preferred:

  • Knowledge in the disassembly and re-assembly of steam turbines, centrifugal compressor(s), or reciprocating compressor(s) components.
  • Possess effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Position Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Responsible for following of all safe work practices, D-R safety and quality policies and procedures during normal daily operations.  
  • Maintenance of shop equipment and regular daily shop house keeping to ensure an organized and safe working environment.  
  • Use of basic problem solving skills in terms of gathering facts, analyzing the cause and selecting the best most accurate solution.
  • Compressor disassembly, cleaning, and inspection including the accurate collection and recording of technical inspection data for equipment repair proposals.
